At O'Hare & McGovern, we have a strong desire to influence positively the process of change in Urban and Rural Environment and create a culture in the workplace that reflects Management’s commitment to the QEH&S Management System. We meet this commitment through a programme of Continuous Improvement designed to satisfy our Customers and End Users, by guaranteeing them quality products that exceed their expectation time and time again. We are dedicated to constantly improving our QEH&S performance therefore making the workplace a more rewarding and safer place to work.
QEH&S Policy Statement
To ensure a constant and consistent level of services and QEH&S performance, the QEH&S Management System, as operated by the Company, is embodied in a Manual of Procedures. This has been designed to achieve quality of service, effective environmental control and accident free workplace for all. It is the duty of the Management and Employees to act responsibly and ensure quality of service to our customers, effective environmental control and prevent injury to themselves, their fellow workers and any person who has occasion to visit the site, including members of the public. All staff are required to implement to QEH&S Management System in order to give effect to the policy. Employees, Sub-Contractors and Self-Employed must ensure that neither their own nor the health and safety of others is put at risk and they must conform with the duties and responsibilities under current legislation.
The Management of O'Hare & McGovern ensure a constant and consistent level of service and QEH&S performance by achieving these principles of action:
- Senior Management are committed to enforcing QEH&S Management System with particular emphasis on hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control and therefore provides a safe workplace.
- Implementing guidance and training on the QEH&S Management System to continually improve the Company’s performance and Employees’ quality of work.
- Keeping sites clean and tidy whenever possible and allowing safe access and egress points.
- Encouraging good community relations and ensuring persons not employed by O'Hare & McGovern but affected by our work are not exposed to risk.
- Preventing mud or grit build up on local roads.
- Readily responding to QEH&S complaints and reporting accidents and dangerous occurrences.
- Preventing damage to surrounding natural habitats or historical features.
- Preventing contamination to soils or waters.
- Segregating major waste streams and investigating opportunities for recycling.
- Promoting environmental understanding to all Employees and Contractors and consult with Employees so as to make arrangements for a safe workplace.
- Ensuring that Employees and Contractors understand their legal requirements.
- Setting and monitoring relevant QEH&S objectives and monitoring improvement by using KPI.
